Regional Reflections - Gwenaelle Villette

France was one of the first countries to go into lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were hit hard from an economic and business standpoint for the first few months. The country continues to adapt to the pandemic situation. We do love to socialise outside over lunch and dinner. It’s our culture, but we’ve had to adjust our working habits since during lockdown we couldn’t meet in person, and there are still restrictions in place with certain organisations. This means relationship building, training and so on, can’t happen as it once did, and we must work more virtually to keep in the minds of our customers. However, since June, when businesses started to reopen, and the country slowly returned to some ‘normality’, the situation is looking so much more positive. From September, we expect to see more easing of restrictions which will make business and travel to see customers around the region a lot easier. We are seeing big projects coming through and are finding that end users are making decisions quicker. Before COVID this wasn’t so much the case. I think right now end users have a pressing need to communicate about the new rules and regulations to staff, customers, visitors and so on, across all vertical markets. Times are changing. Installation of displays and kiosks are more urgent than ever. In restaurants, for example, many of us, not just in France, will have seen the health protocol solutions being adopted that take your temperature on entry. We’re also seeing great demand for our Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Displays, for Stadiums in particular and have some exciting projects in progress. For Peerless-AV as a company, we see ourselves in a great position. Our customers are appreciative that we are able to provide the exact products they need for their application, with a fast response and quick product delivery.
