Case Study: Logicalis UK Deploys Peerless-AV Solutions

Visitors to the Logicalis UK office in the heart of the City of London are
presented with the company’s key branding and business messaging, delivered on
an impressive four-screen Samsung video wall mount on Peerless-AV full service mounts,
supplied by Medium UK, and installed in Logicalis’ edgy modern reception in the historic
Royal Exchange Building.

Logicalis UK is the local operation of an international IT solutions and managed services group with a breadth of knowledge and expertise in communications and collaboration. As a leading global IT specialist with an Audio Visual division, Logicalis was well placed to specify and install a four-screen videowall in its own London office, located in the historic Royal Exchange Building in London’s financial centre.

Installed flush to the wall for a sleek finish, the videowall is positioned to ensure its corporate communications messaging is clearly visible to visitors and staff as they pass through the reception area. Logicalis selected the Samsung UD55A flat panel on the recommendation of its pre-sales team. The 55-inch LCD flat panel is designed for videowall applications; a super-narrow bezel provides for a minimal seam gap of 5.5mm while a wide feature-set provides the tools for operation and management of the videowall.

“Selecting the videowall screen was a straightforward decision” Procurement Manager, Graeme Ogg explains.“Samsung UD55A was ideal in terms of screen size for the chosen location, its supernarrow bezel gives a virtually seamless effect and its aesthetic matches the prestigious nature of our City of London offices.”

Supplied by Medium UK, a leading distributor of AV, digital signage and interactive displays, the four Samsung screens are mounted in a 2x2 layout on the award-winning Peerless DS-VW765 videowall mount, another recommendation from the in-house Logicalis AV division and also supplied by Medium UK.
The full-service mount is designed to expedite installation and servicing. Multiple flat panels in any videowall configuration can be precisely aligned thanks to eight points of micro adjustment on each mount enabling every screen to be fine-tuned in three planes (depth, height and pitch). Screen specific spacers facilitate speedy installation without measuring and individual displays can be quickly serviced without dismantling the entire wall.“We wouldn’t do anything differently,” says Graeme Ogg.

“Although we have command and control videowalls within the business, this is our first customer-facing videowall for corporate communication. However, the installation ran smoothly and the videowall looks absolutely amazing. The image is clear and colour almost true to life.”

Logicalis UK is confident it has installed a videowall that delivers today but is also future proof. For instance, while currently Logicalis videowall content is created in standard definition, the Medium UK-supplied Samsung screens are able to display native Full HD, enabling the company to upgrade content quality in future. The videowall can also be managed over the network port or integrated into room or building controls using industry standards, enabling remote monitoring and control and automated scheduling for easy maintenance and management and minimised power consumption.

The videowall has been enthusiastically received by customers and staff alike.
